This is one of the oldest and largest county fairs in Texas . Held in late September, this fair includes not only livestock and produce competitions, but also a rodeo, carnival, entertainment, dancing, even a tractor pull. Everything you could want in a county fair. Come join the fun at the Comal County Fair Grounds located at 701 E. Common in New Braunfels.
Not just another craft show. Clayfest, held in October in Gruene, features some of the best Texan artists working in clay today. Come watch demonstrations in potter's wheel work and kiln firing. You can even learn some sculptural construction methods. But the best part is you'll be able to buy the latest work directly from the artist. There is no excuse to miss this one, because admission is free.

Weihnachtsmarkt, offering unique decorations, gifts, and specialty items, begins with a formal Preview Gala which includes private shopping. Everyone is invited the following morning to finish Christmas shopping while the kids visit with Santa. This is a great place to pick up a little holiday spirit.
